Matthias aka Cytech started playing drums in 1990 as a longhaired speed metal freak and hat many gigs with his band. Then in 1995 his ears hat the pleasure of hearing records from suburban base, good looking etc. played by DJs in his area, especially at the Typhoon parties in Wuppertal. He decided to start DJing himself (still having the feel for the drums in his ears). In 1996 to 1998 he took every chance to provide drum and bass to the public, no matter if in small clubs or at big events.
He started producing in early 1998, fascinated by the technical possibilities and driven by the urge to develop his own musical ideas. During that time he gained studio experience when collaborating with other musicians, vocalists and guitar players in the 2-step genre.
